• Do you provide any support for LinkSensor?
Yes, we provide email support and will attempt to resolve an issue quickly if it is on our side.
You will receive the contact information when you sign up.
We are also constantly monitoring the health of the infrastructure to ensure that the services are running smoothly.
• How do I setup LinkSensor on my site?
First, download a Firefox extension from here, and see if LinkSensor is right for you.
Then contact us through the form providing some information.
We will get back to you with the pricing and the sign-up instructions.
At the end of the sign-up process, you receive a couple of lines of Javascript code that you will need to paste into the body of your page - usually before the closing BODY tag.
Let us know if you need help figuring out the place to paste the code in, and make sure you backup your code before installing LinkSensor.
• How do I uninstall LinkSensor from my site?
Just remove the lines of code that you have pasted during the installation. • I want to display ads on my site - can I do it in the LinkSensor balloon?
Yes, if you have a repository of ads or an arrangement with an ad network.
Contact us for details. • What blogging platforms does LinkSensor support?
LinkSensor supports Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, MoveableType, LiveJournal, BlogSmith, Drupal, MySpace, Gawker, and some other platforms.
In most cases, we can easily configure support for another blogging platform or its variation - let us know if you see a blog that LinkSensor does not work on.
• How is LinkSensor different from other contextual tools?
There are contextual ads services which highlight words based on the advertiser's preference and display an ad in a balloon.
The difference of LinkSensor is that it identifies words that represent the essence of the content rather than match an advertiser's choice.
• Will the format and content of my webpage be preserved by LinkSensor?
LinkSensor is diligent about preserving your content and layout intact, including any links on your page.
It is still possible that a conflict may arise between LinkSensor and another Javascript tool you have setup on your blog, resulting in one of the tools not working properly.
If you see any distortion of the page or conflicts with other tools, please let us know and we will try to resolve the conflict - perhaps as easy as pasting LinkSensor code into a different place in the post template.
• My links look too long - what should I do to display shorter links in the balloon?
Apparently, your blog is set to display the blog title in front of each post URL.
See if you really need it or can change your settings to hide it. Especially in cases when a blog title is very long, the actual post title may get cut off.
• What browsers does LinkSensor support?
LinkSensor supports pretty much any modern browser - FireFox, IE 7, IE 6, Chrome, Opera, Safari.
